Veniz XR is an antidepressant belonging to a category of medications known as selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs). It influences brain chemicals that might become imbalanced and lead to depression. Veniz XR is prescribed for the treatment of major depressive disorder, anxiety, and panic disorder.
Veniz XR is available in tablet form or as an extended-release capsule for oral administration. The tablet is usually taken two to three times daily with food, while the extended-release capsule is typically taken once each day, either in the morning or evening with food. It is important to take Veniz XR at approximately the same time(s) each day. Carefully follow the instructions on your prescription label and consult your doctor or pharmacist if anything is unclear. Take Veniz XR precisely as instructed. Do not alter the dosage or frequency beyond what your doctor has advised.
Veniz XR helps manage depression but does not eliminate it. It may take 6 to 8 weeks or longer to experience the full effects of this medication. Continue taking venlafaxine, even if you feel better. Consult your doctor before stopping Veniz XR, as they will likely recommend a gradual reduction in dosage.
Discontinuing Veniz XR abruptly may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as agitation, anxiety, confusion, sadness, irritability, unusual excitement, impaired coordination, difficulties with sleeping, nightmares, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea, dry mouth, sweating, tinnitus, seizures, or sensations like burning, tingling, numbness, or electric shocks anywhere in the body. Notify your doctor if you encounter any of these symptoms while tapering off Veniz XR or shortly after stopping it.
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is within two hours of your next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one. Do not take two doses at once or in excess.
